IT'S LIVE!!
Because of Her by Jewel E. Ann is now live!
“If sin weren’t pretty, it wouldn’t be so tempting.”
I was an accomplished music professor.
Happily single.
Perfectly content.
Now, I’m unemployed.
Pining for a dark, brooding guy named Jack who lives in a garage with a piano.
And I’m plotting to seduce a married man because his daughter is responsible for my nephew committing suicide.
I don’t know why teenage girls are so mean.
I don’t know why rich men cheat on their wives.
And I don’t know why Jack has serial killer vibes, even though he leaves me speechless every time he speaks.
All I know for sure is that I feel safe in a stranger’s arms and understood by someone I don’t understand.
“You should be a little scared of everyone because humans are unpredictable.”
How far will I go for revenge? More than that …
How far will he go to save me?

There is nothing more delectable than finding a book so addictive, I've not slept a wink till early Dawn Of The Day, utterly engrossed in the tale.
A reminder of fragility of life as is, made me think about my own life. The force of grief, the art of surviving and a colossal effort required to Live. But mainly the power of forgiveness. Of others and thyself. Oh how jewel hammers home the forgiveness part, it had me a blubbering mess. The letter!!😢
"It’s not okay to check out.
It’s not okay to take the do-over.
There is no do-over.
There is only DO BETTER."
With the ease of a literary gazelle, Jewel jumps from trope to trope with such ease and flexibility, it's hard to put her in a designated box of angsty writer. She crumbles the walls, breaks the ceiling, pushes the envelope off the edge of any established parameters of story telling. And that's why she's my number ONE go to author.
It is such a thrill to a zealous reader like me to not only realise that one of my favourite authors never fails to blow my mind with her stories, but that she also remains capable of surprising me, time after time, as I never quite know what kind of ‘journey’ she would take me on, always somehow managing to leave me utterly stunned in the aftermath of her extraordinary tales
"Letting go is hard.
And holding on is an illusion"
She can make you laugh, cry, hoot & holler, gallop like a Cowboy, question your beliefs and also spin a grey-ish thriller of a story that sets your pulse racing with mystery and intrigue.
I legit didn't know I needed this book, but after
The Jack & Jill Series I knew there was something left unfinished. Jackson knight still had a story to tell.
"The memories of us will be her new god—the north of her new moral compass. "
Her vibrant imagination keeps the freshness alive, even if characters and setting are unconventional to say the least. And as this series just keeps on giving, I still find every book contains an intriguing story with a novel approach.
In this one, Jackson knight is living in a garage of his neighbour Eloise. Playing his piano "Black Beauty" right next to his BMW and homemade gym.
Francesca Holter is here to pick up the leftover pieces of her late brother's family, after his suicide, his wife and son have died too. Frankie wants closure and mementos. But before that, two catastrophic things happen that'll change her life forever.
Meeting Jack is the third and jury is still out on that one.
The entire book is filled with surprising twists and turns but the shared bottomline of sentiment remains the same.
"Grief changes people on a cellular level. It rewires the brain."
The path of vengeance doesn't discern the difference between casualties. Frankie learns the hard way what Jack has known all along - ignoring the past bestows failure upon the future or if it’s the only way to ensure its success. this dilemma has no answer.
I fell in love only deeper with versatility of a genius Jewel...AGAIN!
What a powerful, distinctive story it turned out to be. I didn't know it but jewel knew, that we as readers WANT this story so desperately. And she in her inimitable quirky way winds up with a surprising, therapeutic twist we knew was compulsory for moving forward.
I'm completely overwhelmed & shattered and made whole again. Crying and smiling at the same time.
6 stars for Day, Knight, and everything in between
