Title: The Bad Guy
Author: Celia Aaron
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: May 21, 2017
Blurb
My name is Sebastian Lindstrom, and I’m the villain of this
story.
I’ve decided to lay myself bare. To tell the truth for once
in my hollow life, no matter how dark it gets. And I can assure you, it will
get so dark that you’ll find yourself feeling around the blackened corners of
my mind, seeking a door handle that isn’t there.
Don’t mistake this for a confession. I neither seek
forgiveness nor would I accept it. My sins are my own. They keep me company.
Instead, this is the true tale of how I found her, how I stole her, and how I
lost her.
She was a damsel, one who already had her white knight. But
every fairy tale has a villain, someone waiting in the wings to rip it all
down. A scoundrel who will set the world on fire if that means he gets what he
wants. That’s me.
I’m the bad guy.

BY SHABBY SHABNAMARORA
So Sebastian Lindstorm is a Psychopath. And I actually had the misconstrued notion that Psychopaths are violent and had serial killer's personalities.
That , however, is not the case. They simply are Apathetic. Unfeeling, emotionless and not very good at Peopling (omg describes me perfectly!!!) Anyway , He's disconnected with his feelings , so does not realise what's sadness, love, happiness or socially immoral. He has a tendency to analyse everything logically and tackle any emotion with cold hard facts !!
"I performed a brief calculus, trying to decide what a normal man would say in this situation, which string to pull. It was an equation I’d learned from my earliest days— figuring out what people expected so that no one would notice there was something wrong with me."
And then he meets Camille Briarlane. His heart starts beating again ! And he can "feel" it....for the very first time. So he goes about it in the shortest-cut way possible to get her---> he simply kidnaps her. See, in his Psychopathic Brain, it makes total sense. But life doesn't work this way.
He's never heard of If you love someone , set it free. If it comes back to you, it's yours.
If it doesn't , it never was !
And he tries to pad her "prison cell" of a mansion with luxuries and golden treasures.
Alas, a woman's heart is not something he can barge through the door of , You'd have to knock softly, and she'd open it herself!!
"I was caught in the jaws of a venus flytrap. Just like a hapless fly, I thought I’d had the upper hand. But now, with him pressed against me, I was falling prey to the lure."
I first hated Sebastian, BUT my heart literally tore at his " Little Lost Boy" looks. He simply doesn't know any better !!
His asking for love and physical connection , making deals with camille.......very Oliver Twist kinds.
He's the boy who asked for More!!.
I'm in a dilemma here. Some scenes for me didn't make sense, some were illogical. But if I stood in Sebastian's shoes, they were fitting and apt.
If you see it from any normal human POV, you'd find serious flaws .So read this book not as a reader, but as Sebastian. Think like him, feel (actually unfeel) like him, act like him and this book will impact you.
I have to point out here the gamechanger scene or should I say the line here.
He admits he's a Psychopath, knows his handicap and tries to make himself better for her. Now that's some serious commitment and to an extent , purity of soul. It paradoxical , a guy who doesn't think twice about snatching a living , breathing person , like a child snatching an inanimate toy and clutching it tight to his chest, throwing a tantrum , can learn to fall in love .....
" I think that’s what makes me the bad guy— that I’d kill or build, destroy or create for you. If you wished it, I’d do it. All that would matter to me is that you wanted it."
I read a book once -The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand . In there the character offers his "soul" to his girlfriend. To do with it , what you please . This scene reminded me of that . He offers his essence to Camille , to turn him whatever -monster or a lover. THIS is my gamechanger .
Hats off Celia . Whether it was accidental or deliberate, it helped me change my review.
But I was waiting for the bite ...yanno what I mean ? The sex was hot though !
I loved Sebastian, had trouble connecting with Camille though. So much loved Bill Lindstorm. He was a Fantastic character . Felt really sorry for Link, I mean he actually loved her. Mint was a horny teen with some very smart head.
4.5 psychopathic stars
.5 stars for the Mother-of-Holy-Hotness cover !
5 in whole botanical stars

BY LAURA LEE
What an appropriate title for this book!
Sebastian is a man who goes after what he wants, that’s for sure. Although he is a psychopath, he is a full functioning bad ass alpha male. Kind of like, let me pee on your leg and mark you mine, just so that every male in 100 yards knows it. But it’s not always been like this for him. Lacking the ability to have feelings, his father tried very hard to educate him and make him ‘fit in’ with the way society deems people should act.
It just took one dance…
Camille is a head strong science teacher who loves her job. Teaching the kids is what makes her happy. When her boyfriend asks her to the gala his employer is throwing, she travels into the city to attend. This one party, her life has changed forever.
Then you understand that if you truly love someone…. set it free…if they return, you know its True Love!!!
Good standalone with some darkish themes.
