The winningest—not to mention most arrogant—quarterback in football history, Champion Valentine gets what he wants when and how he wants it, except when it involves a certain exotic dancer.
Electra Miller’s life is the opposite of charmed. One terrible tragic night, she lost everything that meant anything to her. Forced to abandon her dream, she works hard as the headliner at Fantasy. Stripping isn’t Juilliard, but it pays the rent and no one there asks uncomfortable questions about her past. Her secrets remain her own, even her crush on the blond, blue-eyed, and gorgeous Texas Lonestars QB.
Champion wants Electra.
Electra wants Champion just as badly, though she can never admit it. The secrets she keeps aren’t only her own.
What happens when a living legend who doesn’t know how to take no for an answer meets a beautiful dancer eighteen years younger than him who just can't tell him yes?
You guessed it.
Game on.
One with an outcome that might change everything and not just for the two of them.

When a book starts with a hot and passionate night of sex and the next chapter the couple separate, I know I'm in for an angsty read where I'll be screaming for a miracle of sorts to get them back together. Michelle is a new to me author and boy, can she dial up the heat to volcanic level, yet play wour heartstrings to keep us pining for more.
Very engaging and Engrossing book, had me turning pages and highlighting Ike crazy!!
“Is it too soon to start a life that you’ve only been half living?”
See what I mean!!
Two lonely souls who serendipitously cross path in saint Croix one fine afternoon, not realizing they're soul mates, yet.
Champion is the football star, 4 times MVP and super bowl winner. But lately he has been feeling hollow & silent inside, despite the crowds of fans cheering outside.
Electra Miller is trying to escape her demons by swaying to the music. Letting her body carry her day to day, without her mangled brain getting in the way. But nightmares and anxiety are her constant companions, weighing her down with a boulder of guilt.
"The mirror seemed to be a symbol. Who we were before—two lost and lonely individuals—no longer applied.
In our love, we were something new and better. "
Michelle connects these Lost souls together in a journey fraught with fame and public scrutiny with absolute perfection.
I loved the side characters and would love to read Zack-Ally and Mercedes story as well.
Poignantly written, full of sizzle and love, it lingers in your heart like a flowery cirtusy scent.
Divine!!
5 stars for Taking Chances
