{Release Blitz & Book Review}: Indigo Sky by Kelsey Kingsley

INDIGO SKY

Kelsey Kingsley

Release Date: November 22

From the praised author of Saving Rain and Warrior Blue comes a thrilling love story between a pink-haired dancer and her half-blind protector …

I never knew how to stick up for myself.

I never had to.

That’s what Nate Manning, my best friend, was for.

After an accident left me disfigured and half-blind, I took the torment and bullying while Nate fought my battles for me, as unhinged and questionable as his methods were—and I let him.

But that was before I bumped into the confident and strong Indigo Sky.

Suddenly, I had something to fight for, something to defend—something more important than me … especially after taking a job as a bouncer at the club where she danced.

I made a vow to protect her at all costs.

And I will do anything to keep that promise … even if it means burning bridges with my best friend—or risking my own life to save hers …

description

The most exciting about reading arcs is when a book lands on your kindle from your fave author. The delulu sense of smug specialness is justified tho. I dived into it and trust me, I hated ending it. It kept me so invested and engaged, I sprinted through it and I wanted it to be more.
This is THE BEST book written by KK, and I've read most of them. It sucks you in with heartwarming sentiments, kind-hearted characters strengthening your belief in humanity. Selfless Hero is the shining star, but I was immediately in love with Revan, more so his supportive cast of family and Friend -Nate

description

Kelsey is sweet and sensitive human, and so are her stories. Tiptoeing into my soul, they leave me with a fragrant after feeling. All rosy and sparkly.
Like this story of Childhood friends Nathan Manning and Revan Waters. Totally opposite in demeanour, character, personality and childhood. Revan is from stable, secure home and Nathan is abused and neglected.

"They say, sometimes, it can take a while to open your eyes when you’re in a toxic relationship, right? Because you’re blinded by your own dependence on that person or you’re ... I don’t know ... too stuck in the habit of knowing them, of having them in your life, to fully grasp how bad they are for you. Well, for me, it had taken nearly two decades to finally realize that I needed some separation from Nathan Manning."

Friendship leads to kinship and then enabling co-dependency. There's a weird bond between them. It bolsters bad traits in the name of brotherhood. The fact that Revan is disabled makes him feel weaker and Nathan provides the shield to hide behind

"He was cruel and mean, and I’d had the nice things he'd lacked, like food and a safe place to land."

It's leech and host symbiosis at best, enemy within, at worst.
Thankfully Revan moves on when his life is altered by the presence of his saviour queen - Kate Mclaughlin "Indigo Sky" dancer at a strip bar
I need to mention here how wonderfully Kelsey showcases and positively treats this tabboo or questionable profession. There's good people everywhere, and a girl trying to keep afloat is the best human Revan gets to be with.

"My life has felt very dark and dull for a long time, but you ... you make me think of sunshine too."

Nathan is like a pointed, sharp third talon of the trident and story is Complicated.
I felt my heart ripped out of my chest in places, raw and achy tears streamed down my face at others. But I couldn't stop reading it. I had to see them through the dark storm that threatens to blow their world apart. And it does. To smithereens.
It's unforgettable, Unputdownable book that you must must must read.
5 stars for Lost Boys Who got tired of being kicked around
