Beth has created multi-dimensional characters with minute detailing, taken her time plotting thoughtfully and carefully. I've come to claim All her characters as my own, I understand the reasoning behind their actions, which are nefarious and heinous to say the least, but I found myself making concessions for them and justifying them in my heart. Though I can't condone them...but I UNDERSTAND!!
It's uniquely crafted, love-at-first-sight, between two flawed humans looking for a chance at happiness. I fell head-over-heels in love with Jonas Brooks at the first page itself!!
He's his own law, his own judge and own executioner, meteing out his brand of cruel justice on the spot. Quick tempered and ruthless to the core he's a product of his environment. but he'll tell you “It’s very simple, sweetheart, I was born this way.”
I had no illusions about his ruthless character or if he had a chance at redemption.
But I was a goner for this hardened criminal, badass biker, who wears his illicit history tattooed on his face. Beth pairs him with a petal soft, super intelligent, nerd of a girl- Lucy Renquest. This doe eyed beauty is adorable in her glasses. Shy yet inquisitive, she soaks up knowledge taking refuge in books and college.
And Jonas is the complete opposite of everything she is!!

It was strangle cathartic to see them finding acceptance and solace in each others arms. And more commendable was Lucy's unconditional love. She acknowledges the reality of his world and accepts him flaws and all.
This pint of a girl juts her chin and squares her shoulders, ultimately bringing down this mountain of a man to his knees.
All because he walked into a hospital and this angel of mercy saved him!!
Beth you've outdone yourself yet again, I can't sing enough praises of your sharp sensibilities. How you insert tiny details that run like a chain link fence connecting places, people and incidents.
Pay attention when you read people, every thread leads somewhere, every picture speaks a thousand words.
