Shen has legit made me forget Vicious Baron "clit-throbber" Spencer, cause Cillian Fitzpatrick is BIGGER Alphahole and MORE meaner than him and waaay MORE SEXIER!!
"A wolf can never be a pet"
A perfect example of a Hero overpowering the plot, the storyline and events to an extent that you can't focus on anything anymore. I love how she designs these Alpha holes. they bite, they spew venomous words, they're lethal in tactics, have no morals but then she makes them face these Steely Spined Boston Belles who don't cower down, stand like mirrors in front of them, giving them as good as they get. My inner Goddess jumps up and fist pumps "YESS" everytime Persephone Penrose opens her mouth. I'm cartwheeling and flailing my pom-poms for her throughout the book.
“You have nails and teeth, and a spine to go with them. Persephone wasn’t only a floral maiden. She was also the queen of deathb.”
She's mouthy, Sassy, super smart and intelligent. She manages to stay one step ahead of Cillian everytime.
Including recognizing HER love for him, before him.
Identifying HIS feelings for her, before him.
Realising HER self worth, before him.
"a child who is not loved by his village will burn it down to feel its warmth,”
He's her saviour...her crush..her heart..her other half of the puzzle, just too dogged down by his dark secret which makes him nervous and Mr Denial himself. So he bunkers down, sandbags his non existent heart and pulls up the drawbridge.
Cillian "Kill" Fitzpatrick is ruthless in business, hollow dead in personality and heartless in real life.
“My heart is a terrible place. Nothing ever grows there.”
Now let's talk about the FEELS. Its in CAPITALS. The secret once revealed had me pressing my fist to my heart, it hurt so bad. Tears..lots of them. Flowed freely.sobs broke out, such was the impact
