{Release Blitz, Giveaway & Book Review }: The Danger You Know by Lily White

Title: The Danger You Know
Author: Lily White
Genre: Dark Romance
Release Date: April 22, 2020
You’ll judge me.
Hate me and tell me I’m wrong.
Refuse to see how my darkness is what she needs.
While I don’t particularly care about your feelings in the matter, and while I pursue her despite the wedding bells that rang for another, only I can see how she is drowning beneath mediocrity.
How many times must I remind her?
It can’t matter that I am the person who ruined her life.
The man who killed her father.
The constant shadow that watches her sleep.
The lover who prefers dirty alleyways to freshly laundered sheets
She’s mine. Always has been.
I'm the worst thing for her, yet I’m the only salvation she knows.
He had his chance to make her happy.
He failed.
He didn't see how she was dying inside because he couldn't know her.
Not like I know her.
I am her stalker.
Her protector.
And the only man that can bring her back to life.
“Who are you?”
“Does it matter?” I cock a brow, challenging her to care.
She laughs, and it’s like music, free and unencumbered.
“No, I guess it doesn’t.”
We stare at each other for several quiet seconds, the beat of my breath matching hers. Her eyes are glassy and unfocused, her face so serene that I feel relaxed because of it.
“You’re pretty,” she says on an exhalation of breath.
Pretty?
Flowers are pretty. The sky is pretty. Women are pretty.
I am none of those things.
“You’re drunk, and I’m not pretty.”
Adeline pushes up to kneel in her seat and leans over the center console, her palm cupping my cheek as tender as a lover.
“Yes, you are. But you’re flawed. I can see all the mistakes. You’re gorgeous because of those flaws.”
My eyes widen, heart hammering. She needs to go. This is too much. Too close. How the fuck does she know that?
It’s the tragic artist in her. She looks for the cracks and fissures, the imperfections in anything she sees.
Her sloppy grin widens, pearly white teeth glimmering beneath.
“It’s okay. I’m flawed, too. Would you like to see?”
What a stupid question. I don’t need to see. I already know all her flaws. I could write a fucking book about them.
Adeline doesn’t wait for an answer before climbing over the center console to straddle my lap. And while I should open my door to jump away, I find myself sucking in a breath, my body going far too still.
She leans forward to press her mouth to my ear.
“I don’t even know your name, and all I want to do is kiss you right now. How fucked up is that?”
Extremely. It is just one of the things about her that drives me crazy. Don’t get me wrong; I love that about her. But I also hate it.
“We shouldn’t do that,” I answer.
“I like doing things I shouldn’t.”
Yes, yes she does. She really is a little monster.

First of all...be afraid, be very afraid! Ari is going to maul your heart and stalk your senses.
Secondly, leave all your morals and inhibitions at the door.
There's no dispute in the fact that Lily can write dark like no one else. The Original Queen of Mindfuckery is trigger free lass, prancing in the field of skulls with crows perched on them, feasting on the eyes. She bravely goes stomping in the tropes where authors rarely dare to venture, and owns the place!! Her penchant for creating 💯proof, pure, unadulterated Asshole men is legendary. Her characters are thorough, unapologetic & singularly focused. One after the other she's has successfully created memorable Monsters that send shivers up our spines.
What is a monster?

description

“I feel like I live a parallel life. That I experience things very few other people can understand. And the worst part is, I prefer that strange place. It scares other people, but I love it. It’s happened to me for as long as I can remember.”
As Adeline finds out, he's the one hiding just beyond her fingers' grasp, he resides in a thin strip of consciousness beyond her wakeful nights and before the deep sleep.
The Wake To Dream zone!
"I’ve walked between the curtain of being awake and being asleep, and I’ve learned to love it there. To make peace with it."
And the horrifying part is when the Monster reaches out to old your hand and pulls you in.
He seems to fit inside her like a piece of her soul...that's when things take a turn....for better or for worse?
This is where she feels safest....but not for long
To describe this story in Words is tough. It's All About The Feels
There's paralyzing fear of the dark shadows, there's tingling of the nape hair, there's chill running through your body, there's sinking feeling of thumping heart, there's jitters of surprise and anxiety.
It's a molotov cocktail of sentiments, threatening to explode, which will have you tiptoe-ing around the pages

Lily creates different monsters for different reasons. Some protect, others destroy. The ones in broad daylight seemingly more dangerous cause they hide in plain sight.
The ones lurking in the shadows are sentries, guarding her sanity and life.
But the end was the most remarkable part. She flips the definition of its head.
We see firsthand how a monster is born, it is killed and it is reawakened, all in different stages of the book. The cherry on top is a surprise which made my heart all gooey and fluttery.
An intricate look at the layers of human psyche, which keeps constantly transforming in front of your eyes. Astounding scenarios written with natural ease that's signature LW. it's pulse pounding rhythm and pace makes it a hair raising ride till the end.
Remarkable story which kept me glued to the pages. A Lily book is always highly anticipated, deliciously savoured and felt for days!!.......then we have lengthy conversations. Which are the BEST part about reading her books. I enjoy our talks and cherish her darkness. Don't let it fool you, it hides a generous heart beneath😁
5 glow in the dark stars
