About Jewel E. Ann
Jewel is a free-spirited romance junkie with a quirky sense of humor.
With 10 years of flossing lectures under her belt, she took early retirement from her dental hygiene career to stay home with her three awesome boys and manage the family business.
After her best friend of nearly 30 years suggested a few books from the Contemporary Romance genre, Jewel was hooked. Devouring two and three books a week but still craving more, she decided to practice sustainable reading, AKA writing.
When she’s not donning her cape and saving the planet one tree at a time, she enjoys yoga with friends, good food with family, rock climbing with her kids, watching How I Met Your Mother reruns, and of course…heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, panty-scorching novels.

5 +++ Stars!!
After the ending in Transcend (Transcend Duet #1), I didn’t know what to expect when reading Epoch. I went in with an open mind and trusted the author to tell the story the way she saw it. Not the way that readers wanted.
Now that I’m finished, Epoch was written perfectly!
Jewel E. Ann wove a story as beautiful as Swayze handled the life that was given to her. She didn’t freak out over what was happening. She investigated her feeling. She rolled with the Highs and kicked the Lows. But not once did she give up on finding her true happiness.
Not going to say it was smooth sailing for anyone involved in the story. Not going to say that lines weren’t crossed. Not going to say that my heart felt like it was going to explode. Not going to say that tears won’t be shed.
What I will say though, this is not a typical cookie cutter romance book. It will have you second guessing a lot of things you were raised believing.
But in the end, you will find peace in knowing that in life, everyone will find their true love. It might not be the one you are pinning for but that true love is out there!
Just now finished the book, I'm powerless and helpless, my brain completely stripped of words.
So how am I supposed to go on with my life now? It's my moral duty to tell authors like Jewel that they make it impossible for me to move on with my reading. Extremely hard to just go pick another book and immerse myself, cause my brain, heart & soul have been still left behind in this Transcedental story
Pretty much like Swayze has left a piece of her soul behind in Daisy's life. She's stuck in a limbo like hell, left the past life, not quite landed in present now.
So Swayze's dilemma of where should she place herself, is thoroughly justified.which direction should she turn to?
To a past I can’t fully remember.
To a present with its claws curled into my heart.
To a future more terrifying than my worst nightmares.
To an unknown that could ruin my existence as I know it.
The story just blows your mind, there's interweaving emotions and overlaying sentiments. Swayze is being torn into two. Her Daisy soul is hiding inside Swayze body and her heart lives in perpetual turmoil. Her constant in life -Griffin (sexy, delicious, lickable, grocery store guy) is feeling the pressure and the distance
“I’m not going to watch you self-destruct. I’m not going to watch you fall in love with another man.”
Nate (sexy, delicious, lickable, her employer) is feeling the onus and the closeness.
All the characters are looking for closure!!
We can do this. We can uncover the past together. And when one of us breaks, the other one will know how to glue all the pieces back into place.
Nate from the guilt of not being there for Daisy
Griffin from not measuring up to the life good enough for Swayze to choose
Swayze for finding the real self.
It's a total scrambled eggs kind of a situation that fries your brain. I was on a constant roller coaster and I hate the darn rides !! The nausea and stomach churns destroy me and I felt exactly that having gone through Transcend/Epoch experience. I hope Jewel lends me her Dr. Albright!!
But HATS OFF to Jewel for penning such complex theories and convulated feelings and stuffing them in living, breathing humans that have hijacked our hearts. Several times in the story is the crucial and loaded question asked by Swayze. It carries varied significance in different stages of her confused mind .
Who am I?
What’s happening to my life?
Am I living in a parallel universe?
And when Griffin asks her "Who are you?", she's just speechless !
I have to mention that all throughout I kept picturing myself in Swayze's shoes. What would I do? Who would I choose? Will I succumb to the pull of fragmented memories or will I bury the voices in the ground and give Fate a middle finger? When push comes to shove, is the whole truth worth the fractured life left behind?
the old adage is still powerful- Curiosity DID kill the cat.
Jewel adds the next line -Satisfaction DOES bring it back !!
The more the story travels deep into Swayze's past, the more her emotions gets tangled. She can't let go of Griffin, she can't walk away from Nate & Morgan and yes her attachment to Morgan is a HUGE factor in her growing affinity towards Nate
Griffin is the man I love. My friend. My lover. My future husband. Yet, I can’t find the right way to explain the emotional connection I have to Nate and Morgan.
My heart broke many a times. I cried buckets, howling-at-the-moon crying, my-life-is-ending bawling !
“I think a part of you will be mine to love in every life.”
Be prepared to experience painful trauma, need to throw the kindle, curse like a MotherTrucker, guzzle bottles of wine, because this story will take your ALL !
It will squeeze your heart, choke your words and dry your tear ducts . It's "THAT" kinda story.
I have to specially mention the end here. I was afraid for just a moment, this could've gone the "Cookie-Cutter" way, with obvious choices, but Jewel again shines her brilliance with the "catalyst" , if I may. The Truth Shall Set You Free may or may not necessarily come true and WHO shall set you free is the most surprising part of the story.
A sixth star JUST FOR THAT!
I may have created SixStar box JUST FOR JEWEL . She maybe a sole occupant for a while, with maybe an author or two visiting the box every year. But I think Jewel should move in permanently. This is her BEST BOOK yet! . Yeah, where have I said THAT before?
Oh yes, to Her! With every book! And I've only read four!!
