As I finished the 4th book of Top Shelf Series, I thought to myself, what an unusual group of men who run the Spiked Roses Club! Each one deserving their story to be told. As with all books in this series, they can be read as standalones. However, you get the full effect while reading them all!
Devils & Rye is Alec and Makayla’s story. Alec is a part owner at Spiked Rose, receives a letter from a friend from the past. When he reads the letter over again, he gets this sick feeling in his stomach. One that his past is coming back to haunt him. Makayla is the daughter of the man the letter came from.
Alec has been called upon to take Makayla into his protection. Watch over her until he hears from her father again. When Makayla arrives to the Spiked Roses, she is all grown up. Not the little girl he remembers vacationing with at the cabin with her parents. Now 20 years old and a beautiful woman.
When Makayla hears what is going to happen to her father, she takes it upon herself to go and try to solve a tradition that has been going on for many, many years.
Other than the first chapters, we hear nothing about Spiked Roses men. I missed them and how well they work together when one in is need.
Enjoyed reading this one as well, just in my opinion wasn’t my favorite of the Top Shelf series.
I will patiently sit on my non- decorated bench and wait for the next book that Alta writes.

I was going straight to hell. I shouldn’t be looking, but fuck if I could help it. Jesus Christ she was hot. Smoking hot. Makayla. Sweet, innocent, little Makayla.
It kept me engrossed was a rapid read, very heavy on kinky fuckery.
Keep going Alta, lots of liquors still to be tasted and lots of spankings still to be done.
