She was my first love. She was my first hate. The very sun in my world tried to burn me alive with her lies and cruelty. Until I dimmed her light for good… Or so I thought. Now she’s back. Cracked. Broken. Lost. And for the first time in a long time, I feel free. Free from our past. Free from my present that suffocates me. Free to destroy her future. Her misery is my music. Thrilling. Invigorating. Intoxicating. For so long, all I’ve done is hate her. So why do I love her?

Webster is back where she belongs . In the world of dark emotions and cruel intentions.

Do you ever feel like fate pushes two people together on purpose? Like it knows one isn’t as strong as the other?”

Yes !!! We Were put together with her . To read her stories and revel in dark misery.
This story is a bit different from her usual genre. Raven and Rome Murray are twins and they are so different on the surface yet so alike and empathetic to each other, it's creepy . There's a school cheerleader. The beautiful blue eyed blonde, very American girl - Courtney Moss. She's a princess, every high school guy's wet dream and girl's envy.
Then their worlds collide.
Everything is annihilated. Everything !!!
All lives crushed, destroyed, blackened.
Here in lies Webster's expertise. She manouvers the story from getting lost in the darkened corridors and it to the Redemption Room.
The characters evoke so much melancholia , the situations they're are trapped in so dreary and heavily guilt ridden , you can't help it but mourn at their state. Rome is thoroughly justified in his anger and rage. So is Court in her remorse and regret.
Whenever there was Raven mentioned , it brought tears to my eyes. She has effected me so much .
I had some frustration dealing with Courtney tbh. Her docility in her acceptance of Rome's cruelty had me wondering, why would she subject herself to these punches and lashings. That took some getting used tp. Rome was all boiling rage and flaring wrath
But , Raven stole the show
Before and After !
I liked the way story started. It went off the tangent but by the end gets back on track
The thing that hurt me the most was the afterword by Webster herself. When she was a victim of cyberbullying, I tried as much to support her in my limited means. Nobody deserved what she went through , especially at the hands of her peers and their posse. It is a very serious and dangerous problem looming right beyond the computer screen. Her heartfelt plea tore me up so bad, I sobbed more at her real words than the story. She's been my fave always . A lovely human being , sweet and helpful and I'll always be in her corner
