[Release Blitz & Book Reviews]:Darkness Embraced by Tillie Cole

THE DEEPEST LOVE CAN BE BORN FROM THE FIERCEST HATE…

Born to sit on opposing thrones.
They were never meant to fall.

Tanner Ayers is the heir of the Texas Ku Klux Klan. Fed nothing but hate, violence, and intolerance from the day he was born, Tanner kills for his cause without remorse.
Until he meets Adelita Quintana, the daughter of the most brutal cartel boss in Mexico.
Adelita and Tanner hate each other instantly. But there is something between them that neither can explain or deny. Hate turns to desire, desire turns to love, and for the first time Tanner sees how wrong his whole life has been.
For years, Tanner does everything he can to find a way for him and Adelita. He walks away from the Klan, his family, everything he ever believed, and joins the Hades Hangmen. But now the Hangmen are at war—not only with his own family, but with Adelita’s too.
When Adelita and Tanner are thrown together again, they are forced to fight for a love that should never have been. For a love that puts them and everyone they have ever loved in danger.
The White Prince.
The cartel princess.
And a future that seems shrouded in darkness…

Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains sexual situations, violence, sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language and mature topics. Recommended for age 18 years and up.

When we pulled up to the small chapel, I let the driver open the door and escort me inside. Candles were still lit, illuminating the dark room. I reached out to the old stone walls and smiled. I always felt safer here. At peace.
Free.
I let the rows of candles lead me along the aisle and down the stairs until I reached the place I knew Luis would be. As always, he was hunched over his books. “Adelita?” I’d shocked him. He glanced at the clock on his wall. “You’re here late.”
I checked the driver had stayed by the main door. When I faced Luis, my only true friend left here in Mexico, from childhood, I let my eyes fill with water and held up my hand, showing the ring. Luis’s eyes fell in sympathy, and his face paled somewhat. “Adelita,” he whispered. I shook my head. Luis was the one person I could let my guard down with. The only one who truly knew the real me, and . . .
“Tanner,” I whispered, and my voice caught on a pained breath. “Luis . . . what about Tanner?”
Luis rushed over to me and took me in his arms. I cried into his shoulder, hearing him lock the door behind us. Luis let me cry until my legs felt weak and all the energy had drained from my body.
Luis and I sat on his small couch. He held my hand, just like he had done, years ago, when I’d fallen for the prince of the Ku Klux Klan . . . when Tanner had had to leave me . . . and in the months, then years, when I didn’t hear from him. When he didn’t return.
“Diego was always determined,” Luis eventually said. He sighed and faced me. I knew my face would look tired and worn. Luis squeezed my hand tighter. “When?”

“Three weeks,” I said, my voice broken with sadness. I laughed without humor. “I’m sure you’ll be told come morning.”

THE DEEPEST LOVE CAN BE BORN FROM THE FIERCEST HATE…

This is so true!

The KKK man and the Mexican Cartel Queen. How in the world could this relationship ever work? Nearly impossible.

When they fell in love, they vowed that one day they would be together. 2 years have passed without a word from each other.

The war is on and the one thing needed to ensure a win is ready for the taking! But with that taking, a whole new can is opened.

Secrets that are penned, waiting to be read.

There is losing your family.
There is finding a new family.
There is understanding what family truly is.

Absolutely enjoyed reading about all the Hades Hangmen. This one for me was the hardest book to read due to the nature of the KKK. Their beliefs and actions are just hard for me to comprehend on how they are still around this day and age. But like all Tillie Cole books, she wrote about a tough subject but with a way of not giving this hate group any acknowledgement.

Loved the peek into what is coming up next!!! Until then….

bloodsoaked story of love sprouting in fallow fields of hate and tension, Racism and bigotry.
It's a very very relevant story. I cannot stress enough how every person, esp in America MUST MUST READ this story and try and learn from it. It's a mirror of our present horrid times. Tillie cleverly portrays The hypothetical yet eerily familiar, systematic defragmentation of civilised society in this fabulous book. She highlights how propaganda and brainwashing menticide destroys the entire fabric of our society. I say this book couldn't have been written in a more appropriate time.
Tanner Ayers . . . The White Prince of the Ku Klux Klan. And me, Adelita Quintana, princesa of the Quintana cartel . . . this would be interesting . . .
And IT IS!!  what a clash of titans -Quintana & Klan.
White supremacists and spics!!
A tortured, beaten, abused, slashed story of forbidden love. Between fire and water, earth and sky, day and night. Never the twain shall meet!!
Nope...tillie says No! They SHALL meet and HOW !!!
“It was always a doomed love, Lita,”
“The heir of the Ku Klux Klan and the Quintana cartel princesa. In every way possible you were not meant to fall in love.”

Danger is just around the corner, enemies hiding in plain sight. His father, her father, Diego medina, Franco Valdez, Hades Hangmen, Diablos......list is endless!! In the maelstrom are these two young innocent brain washed kids, trying to make a sense of it all!
“You ever feel like your life isn’t your own?”
“I know exactly how that feels”
It's very volatile love story, penned with perfect doses of love, tears, angst, heartache, sacrifice, torture and betrayal. The enemies turn friends and so called family become vile monsters. loyalties shift, allegiances change sides, lonely souls find families and pampered ones loose family.

It's sad yet hopeful, hopeless amidst bloodshed and mayhem but every cloud has a silver lining and so do Tanner and Lita.
“I don’t know how to live this life without the hope of him in my heart. The hope of us, the hope of what, together, we could be.”
Side characters are all very present in droves, the parallel story of Styx and Mae is very beautifully twined  with the main love story. I enjoyed reading it.  This is the 7th book in the series, and they all are great stories of emancipation and redemption, but by now I've become too familiar with the basic framework and structure of the stories. Perhaps next one could take a different route and surprise us!

4.5 stars for Live free. Ride free. Die free
