This is my second book by Lani and 2nd in There's No Crying In Baseball series. I like her witty writing style, pitching ordinary heroines with sports superstars heroes
Typically her stories have 3 main ingredients- funny banter, fast pace and unusual names.
Here too Henley Diane Cree is a regular girl next door to a baseball superstar- Rhys Rivera. He's a quiet man with noisy friends and Henley is a girl with disability.
I dreamed about a tiny woman, who was deaf, staying in a house by herself who couldn’t protect herself.
Chance encounter lands her on her ass and her transmitter broken. Next thing you know she's holding hand of a dying man for two weeks and then he dies!!!!!
She's a sweetest, most compassionate person I've read in recent books. Always on back foot cause she thinks she's "defective" and can't believe anybody would ever be interested in her *gasp*
I was slightly overweight. I had long, bland, straight as a board, boring brown hair. I had acne—and there was no way in hell he was missing the pimple on the end of my nose. My boobies were literally the only asset that I had that was at least considered attractive. Then there were my millions of freckles that covered the entire expanse of my exposed skin, and even some of the skin that wasn’t.
The story turns on its axis and the cuteness overload of a story that follows had me turning pages so fast, it gave me a dang near papercut. The last 30% of the story just turned..........how shall I put it.....strange!!!
I fell down laughing at the scene when Henley catches Rhys watching porn on his tv....i mean what if he caught mom😂😂😂😂😂
Rhys steps up to the plate to deal with the dark past that is plaguing him. The career role he was running from, catches up with him and he has no choice but to dig in his heels and show his true colours to shield the woman he loves and the family he is fiercely protective about.
I had trouble dealing with last 20% , but it was still an engrossing read.
So go ahead and read this hilarious sports comedy
