“This series grips you by the throat and refuses to let go—and you’ll be begging for more the entire time.” — Sierra Simone, USA Today Bestselling Author
On the Edge, the next intense installment in The Edge Series from New York Times bestselling author CD Reiss, is available now!

“In Iraq, I promised you a bed of rose petals.” He grabbed my hand under the table, tightening his grip as if he were falling from a precipice and our connection was the only thing saving him from certain death.
“They were beautiful.”
“You smell like apples. Roses were wrong.” There was nothing soft about his tone, but his quiet words were for me alone. “I want everything to be right for you.”
“Caden, look at me.”
I caught his gaze and held it. He was confident. Arrogant. Sure he had a place in the world. And under that was the man who needed me to be that place.
“If I could…” He smiled and shook his head at a silly thought he wanted to dismiss but couldn’t—a contradiction in keeping with the whole man I married. “If I could write my love in the sky, it wouldn’t be big enough. I’d run out of room. I’d fall out of the air trying to say it all.”
He was saying it all.
Every day.
And he was falling out of the sky to do it.

About the Author
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.
Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.
She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Careful.
It hurts.
when you open them, it hurts!!
Now all bets are off ! We've officially entered into the St.John war zone. It's a minefield of emotions you navigate where combative personalities are hell bent on revenge. Men and their egos!! They'd actually chop the nose to spite the face, or jerk the foreskin off !! **smdh**
The story is becoming dangerous as it progresses. I read the entire book with bated breath and a sense of impending doom. CD is attempting to chart the complex terrain of human mind and add to that PTSD + childhood trauma, and you have an unexploded bomb ticking in the pages.
Would you rather be at the top of the Washington Monument with no way down or at the bottom of a narrow hundred-foot hole with no way up?

Anyway you cut it, you're bound to loose a limb or piece of your sanity. Don't know which is worse.
In this continuing battle of Damon/Caden war, the personalities clash and how! Sadly the victim is Greyson. The toll it's taking on her body & heart is equivalent to the pockmarks on her marriage. The things,(at this point I'm referring to both, because they're becoming detatched and ruthless) are dividing the hours of the day and portioning Grey's sentiments
“Isn’t it interesting that the sex you like comes from the man who appears during the day, and the man you can live with appears at night?”
It could've been really confusing in a lesser author's hands but CD manages to keep her threads clean and unjumbled.
The tragic figure of Caden drew most sympathy. He's fighting the shadow of himself and it gets really frustrating and unravelling for him to find the missing logs. What a fantastic scenario CD builds, what amazing imagination(it'd be a fantasy had it not been a truth), alas PTSD is no joke.
I’d spent hours trying to understand what consciousness was and when mine began. I’d had to do it without a single human reference.
I had no way of knowing if I was my own person or another man’s setback. In moments like this, when I had to define the indefinable, I was the loneliest man on the planet.

He and Damon weren’t communicating the nitty-gritty.
Now I had to say everything twice.
I’d probably have to describe what I wanted twice, argue twice, explain twice.
Is it the norm, is this how DID works?
Since there's no set pattern or formula to it and I have zero knowledge or expertise, I'm going to solely rely on CD's observations and interpretations. Which bring me to the handling of the story. I was bowled over simply by the hazardous topic, compound it with the treatment, research & narration. I'm gone ! Totally genuflecting now on the other side of the landmass CD . All hail !!
I read some scenes , some lines TWICE, it was so layered, I didn't wanna miss anything
In conclusion, go read this psychological revelation thriller. I insert "revelation" because I'm a novice, ignorant and apprenticed in this area. It's scary but really enlightening, changed my perspective and opened my eyes to a dreadful epidemic which is spreading unnoticed with alarming speed. If we do continue, and with present times(read "regime") this could end up with a body count more than all the wars combined!!
