Mercy was my first book to read by Debra Anastasia and what a start it was! This cover alone could sell me on this book! But the story that was inside sealed the deal. I love reading about men that
“He had a horrible childhood. He was secretive. He was loaded, and he wasn’t Batman.”
While Nix certainly didn’t have the picture-perfect upbringing, he did survive. Now he is on a road to revenge. Making sure the ones who mean something to him are watched after, are protected. Unlike he was growing up.
Rebecca – Becca is living the life working in a bar called Meme’s. Her mother is constantly trying to set her up with the dream husband. None of these men are what Becca desires. So until Mr. Right comes into Becca’s life, she continues to muddle through a pretty basic life.
There is a connection between Becca and Nix that cannot be disconnected.
“Her face was buried in my neck. I was spent, but her body was ridiculous enough that my dick wanted a defibrillator.”
The weaving together of these two has been in the making for many, many years. The weaving has taken time, planning and death. What is the price to pay for happiness?
This story was a page turner for sure! The twists and turns, the connections, you name it… One thing for sure though, it all came together in the end!!!
