[New Release, Giveaway &Book Review] SHAME ME NOT by Fiona Cole

Cover Design: Najla Qambar Designs
Release Date: July 26, 2017

Synopsis

Shame. Panic. Desire. Dominance. Disgust. All feelings that I was familiar with from the age of sixteen. That's when I met Ana. The girl next door who became so much more. Until her, I was alone in the dark desires that I didn't understand, that I couldn't reconcile. My best friend, she accepted me. Helped me see that there was no shame in the things that we both craved. Her submission was a drug, my dominance over her a high that I'd never experienced. When we were together, I was at peace for the first time in my life. But it was too good to last. Our own guilt over our feelings, of our appetite for pain and pleasure, destroyed us. I was convinced that all I needed was a chance, just one more chance to overcome my shame, and Ana would be able to trust me again. If only it were that easy.

BY LAURA LEE

This was my first Fiona Cole book and it was a great Friends to Lovers story.

Ana moved to a new state with her mother after her parents divorced. Finding herself starting a new high school knowing no one, she was thankful that before school started, she met her next-door neighbor Kevin.

Ana and Kevin quickly become best friends. They get each other, they can talk openly without hiding behind fake personalities that seem to run freely with all their friends.

Both have ‘feelings’ that aren’t considered ‘normal’ with the majority. They both like dark desires in the bedroom. Opening to each other they experiment with their desires finding that they work very well together.

But….

Wanting to conform to what is a ‘normal’ relationship has torn them apart. Ana just can not move past what others think. Even though what goes on behind closed doors is between Ana and Kevin. It is even consensual, she just can’t accept that what they do in the bedroom is okay.

This book spans many years. I wish there was more to the story that explained the gap after college. Other than that, It was a very good book!!
