[New Release] Puck Love by Carmen Jenner

Title: Puck Love
Author: Carmen Jenner
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: October 3, 2017

Stella Hart is the hottest thing in country music. For ten years, she’s been Nashville’s darling. She’s pure, sweet, and a positive role model in an industry rife with scandals, sex, and sequins. Men want to own her, women want to be her—everyone wants a piece of her, and Stella? Well, she wants out.

As the center for the Calgary Crushers, Van Ross isn’t afraid of the spotlight, but he doesn’t much like it either. Despite his reputation as a player, the NHL’s bad boy lives for only two things: the game, and his younger brother. That’s why when he comes across a country music superstar seeking refuge at his home in the Canadian Rockies, he’s not too happy with the media shitstorm this surprise houseguest brings.

With a nationwide manhunt, paparazzi dogging their every move, producers of a reality TV show baying for blood, and a record label desperate to see their “good girl” returned safely home, Van and Stella’s lives are snowballing out of control.

While Van would like nothing more than to show the purest of them all how well he handles his er ... stick, Stella is no puck bunny. Nor is she as innocent as she’d have the world believe.

With chemistry like theirs, tension runs high on and off the ice, but the end game is the same for both players: line up the puck, take the shot, and score. If only their hearts understood the play.

Puck fame and fortune.
Puck right and wrong.

Puck love.

“What are you running from?” I say, echoing the me from several months ago when this strange and beautiful creature had arrived on my doorstep, lost, and seeking refuge from a world that might have destroyed a lesser woman.
She takes several steps back until there’s nowhere left to go but on top of the counter. “I’m not running from anything.”
I press against her. She’s stiff as a board. That makes two of us. “I miss you, Stella. I jack it every day thinking about you, sometimes twice a day. I want you.”
“You can’t have me, Van.”
“Bullshit,” I hiss. I slide my hand into her hair, and pull her closer. I lean in, but I don’t kiss her. “Tell me you miss me. Tell me you’re thinking about me, too.”
“I don’t . . .” She shakes her head, but her breath is hot and heavy against my face. “I’m not.”
I close my eyes and rub my cheek against hers. My stubble is likely scratching her delicate skin, but she doesn’t pull away, and I slide my hand under her shirt. She’s braless. I groan. All those long days and nights she tortured me at the cabin by wearing only my flannel shirts with no bra, and probably no panties either, for all I knew. This little cock tease needs a taste of her own medicine.

[New Release & Review] Untamable by Jamie Schlosser

Happy Release Day to Jamie Schlosser!

A Standalone Romantic Comedy

Emery Matheson knows p*ssies. Cats, that is. As the star of a reality show called The P*ssy Tamer, it’s his job to fix extreme feline behavioral issues.

When he hears about his next project—a lonely cat hoarder named Estelle—he expects a little old widow, not the blond bombshell who opens the door.

With a 100 percent success rate, Emery has never had trouble finishing a job. But just a few hours into the first day of filming and one thing is clear—Estelle and her band of misfit p*ssies will give him a run for his money… and his heart.

Jamie Schlosser grew up on a farm in Illinois surrounded by cornfields. Although she no longer lives in the country, her dream is to return to rural living someday. As a stay-at-home mom, she spends most of her days running back and forth between her two wonderful kids and her laptop. She loves her family, iced coffee, and happily-ever-afters.

Brady Bunch meets The Dog Whisper!!! That is the spin this book has taken. So many laugh out loud moments and yet filled with romance.

Emery is barely surviving in his dead-end job when an opportunity presents itself while he is working. He has now become a reality show superstar! Traveling around and offering his P*ssy knowledge to people in need of help.

Estelle is an ‘old crazy cat lady’ who’s hoarding has her needing the help of the P*ssy Tamer. While she recently had a break up with her boyfriend, the cats in her house are her only true friends.

The major piece of advice is, if your expensive pleasure piece has stopped working…never throw it and forget about it!!! You never know who might find it and carry it around. This scene had me busting a gut!!!

If you are looking for a Romantic Comedy, Untamable is right up your alley!!!

[New Release &Reviews] The Ghostwriter by Alessandra Torre

The Ghostwriter
By Alessandra Torre
Genre: Psychological Suspense / General Fiction
Standalone, 316 pages
I have three months to write the last book of my life. Three months to confess the details of that day, and how it changed everything for me.
My name is Helena Ross. I’ve written fifteen romance novels, ten of which have become international bestsellers. But this one isn't a romance. This novel holds only the truth, which I have run away from for four years. The truth, which I have hidden from the police, from my loved ones, from the world.
This final book?
It's my confession.

Blind I tell you… Totally Blind… That’s how I went into this book. Never read the blurb, never read any teasers, just dove right in. This my friends is how you should go into this fantastic book. The less you know going into in, the better your reading experience will be in my opinion.

With that being said, Helena Ross is by far a perfect person, she has some unusual quirks to her life. What she does have is a successful career at writing books. She is an international bestselling author who has a way of surviving (barely) in her ‘real’ life, yet succeeding at everything that she writes. Barely taking the time to be the wife/mother yet taking all the time writing her books.

When her life takes a complete turn in the wrong direction, she has one final request. To write the book that will set the record straight. To come clean. To confess. To put closure on this very bad time in her life.

This is not a romance book, this is not unicorns and rainbows. This is a Raw, Emotional and Quite the page turner book!!! I picked it up and did not put it down till the very last page. Outstanding book that flowed perfectly

"If you lie enough times, no one believes your truth."

This story took a year in writing , I believe. Alessandra has worded grief and misery in its dismal glory . The words are saturated with power to gouge out your heart with a blunt spoon. I've never in my life read a book like this before. I just finished the book, my face hiding in my palms , sobbing my heart out. :`( .
The story is pretty simplistic in detail ...on the surface at least. Helena Ross is a figment of Alessandra 's imagination , I have my doubts though. This character is totally fictional, she says, but bits and pieces could be any author.....every author!!!!
Not only is Helena battling life on a physical front but mentally and emotionally too life is driving stakes in her fragile body. She can't take it anymore and decides to write a last book documenting her ultimate truth. Its hidden under layers of lies and a devastating secret.

"I, understand secrets. I understand how one person, one whisper of truth, can crumble empires, destroy lives, reveal monsters.""That is how life is, it gives us burdens to carry and doesn't give a damn about the weight. We shoulder it or we break."

There's different facet too, to the main storyline. Compassion & comradeship.
In this indie world or book community as we call it, hundreds of indie authors vying for readers attention everyday. How many authors support each other , applaud their peers' works, how many readers sugar coat their reviews or unsheath their sharp claws dipped in prejudice venom.
The underlying and bold fact that i took away from this brilliant story - Authors are human beings too. They have parallel lives beyond deadlines, peer pressures, favourable reviews, Bestseller lists and breaking sales records

"They. The gods in their world, the eyes on which the axis rotated. The readers. The critics. What would they think? Was his reading of the content skewed by his relationship with her? Would they vilify or martyr her?"

They bear enormous burdens of guilt , from giving you time they steal from their families, giving you pieces of their hearts they poured on sheets for you to chew them or savour them. So next time we see a book which doesn't match up to our snobbish standards, take a minute to recognise their sacrifices and toil that goes behind the scenes in producing a book.
I remember one time on Halloween , my fave author was busy doing takeovers and promotions while her family carved out pumpkins. She missed that time with her family and gave it to us readers.
I remember one time , an author had a death in her family and while mourning , she also had the book deadline in the back of her mind.
I remember several authors going through bitter divorces, custody battles, still have to step up to the plate in author duties.
Makes me feel very shallow and petty as a reader now.πŸ˜–

I cannot sum up the brutal honesty of the story in my limited vocab. You need to read this story. Whether you're a writer, reader or a critic blogger. You do see the world of authors upfront but also see humans behind it . That's the painful beauty of the book. It humanises Gods and Monsters...whichever way we percieve those we follow.

“It’s difficult to read, it’s so vivid. It’s painful. I can’t imagine going through that. Discovering that. Reacting to it. It’s heartbreaking.”

Bear in mind, I'm crying right now. Fat tears , heartbreaking tears , still havent gotten over it.
The story has a twist , or two. One that though surprising , still gives you a feeling of Deja vu. One totally a left handed slap ! . The flow is very steady and you get a ringside seat in the drama behind writing of a Novel. Once you start, you won't be able to put it down. There's a metronome in background ticking away. You do wanna rush to the end , but you also wanna slow down to not finish it . you wanna cry and curse and weep and mourn at the same time.

I wanna point out something here that'll highlight the fantastic writing ability of Torre. She concisely sums up Kate's past in just 4 lines. Just 4 , and you can clearly see where she's coming from !!
I loved all the characters in the story. They're co-dependant and supportive pillars of each other. Empathy and sympathy run deep, kindness and compassion sneaking out from unexpected quarters.
It's diabolical that expected relations stab and defraud her , while adversaries reward and support her.
I need to stress- as a reader, as an author, as a critic, EVERYONE should read this book. Very brutal in its honesty and very truthful .
Insightful🌟Resonating🌟Eye opening 🌟

I was blown away with the beauty of this.  So funny and so real.  I love a page turner but more than anything I love feeling all churned up and not knowing what's round the corner.
I will go on record and say this is my No.1 book of the year!  So funny I got a head, cheek and belly ache from laughing/smiling so hard...
When you wake up smiling then start laughing out loud just thinking about the scenes and the lines.  Yes this book does that.  One of funniest Books I've read this year!

“He scoops ice out of a drawer in the freezer and wraps the tea towel around it before heading back towards me and placing his makeshift ice pack gently on the back of my wrist.
“Hold this in place,” he orders. I do as I’m told—with a lot of concentration, this is something I am occasionally able to do.
I continue to watch him as he repeats his movements from earlier, only this time he slides the ice pack under my wrist.
He then proceeds to retrieve what I assume are a couple of painkillers from a pack he takes from the pantry. He hands them to me, and I put them in my mouth before accepting a bottle of water he pulled from the fridge.
“You drugging me?” I question.
“Yep. They’re magic pills that stop you from talking, but they only work on beautiful girls. Not sure if you qualify.”
“Oh, and he’s a fucking comedian as well as a first-aider. What other skills can you impress me with, Cowboy?”
He scratches at his beard and gives his head a slight shake. “You have a smart mouth for a little-bit, anyone ever tell you that?”
All the time.
“And you should quit with the cussing. It doesn’t become you.”
“Fuck you.”
We stare at each other in silence for a few seconds, and I feel a bit mean for being rude. He didn’t have to help me out with my arm, but he did, and he did it with a gentleness that surprised me.
“So, where’d you learn the first-aid skills?”
“Played a lot of football, got a lot of injuries, learned how to fix myself up.”
“By football, I assume you mean that game where men wear lots of padding, run along carrying a wonky ball, knock other men out of the way until they reach a line, where they then proceed to throw down the wonky ball and score a point, or a goal, or something similar? Would that be the game you’re referring to?”
He folds his arms across his chest and leans back against the worktop opposite where he sat me.
“It would be the game that’s played something like the way you described that I’m talking about, yes.”
I nod and then shake my head. “Always puzzled me why you would call that football when so much of the game is played with the hands. The foot and the ball, rarely actually coming into contact.”
“Well, what would you call it?”
“Big men that are scared of getting hurt, so they wear lots of padding while they run, ball.”
“Now who’s being a comedian?”
“I’m female, so it’s comedienne.”
“What’s the difference?”
“We’re actually much funnier.”
That earns me a smirk, and I swing my legs while sitting on the worktop, basking in the satisfaction that I’ve almost made him smile.”

Lesley Jones
Lesley Jones was born and raised in Essex, England but moved to Australia in 2006 with her family.  Her first book, Saviour, was published in 2013 and she quickly gained a reputation as a writer of gritty, down to earth characters, involved in angsty and emotional plot lines.  Carnage, her third novel, has won a number of awards for ‘Best Ugly Cry’.  Her readers love the fact that she can switch her stories from hot and steamy, to snot bubble ugly crying, followed by laugh out loud moments, in the space of a few sentences.  She has declared that the very best part of her job is meeting her readers and has travelled the world a number of times over the past few years to do exactly that.  When not writing, she has admitted to being a prolific reader, getting through around four or five books a week.  She is a fan of trashy reality TV, listening to music, watching her son play football and enjoys a glass of wine… or three.

While Lesley Jones has made a name for herself with the Carnage series, CowSex proves that she can rip our hearts out in a book and she can also write a Rom-Com that is full of laugh out loud moments yet still tells a fantastic story!!!

Gracie Elliott has arrived in Colorado on holiday for 6 months. She made quite an entrance to say! Having just survived a long flight from London, in which she drowned her sorrows with excessive amount of wine. Shed some tears and chatted with a total stranger about how her life has changed.

Koa Carmichael is the local celebrity, if you call it that. Celebrity in everyone gossips about him. Born and raised in this little town, everyone knows everyone’s business. Football superstar, Country rock star yet there is something he hasn’t gotten right yet…

When these 2 meet, the banter and nonstop conversations are priceless! The twist on a guy that’s a Cowboy and a gal from Essex had tears running down my face from laughing!!! Not to mention meeting “Vance”. I really loved how Gracie held nothing back and said what she was thinking with zero filter. Then there is Koa who I will admit I was ready to head to Aspen just to shack up in his other home!!!

If you are looking for a great standalone Rom-Com, I highly recommend this one!!!

Well Blimey Guvner Jones For such a little-bit, you sure do make some noise. !!
It's funny to the bone RomCom that will have you giggling nonstop. Goes to prove a Rose by any other name would still smell just as sweet . No matter what genre Les chooses to write in, her indelible Essexian smirk and smartassery will shine through. I thoroughly enjoyed the Essex Bird - Gracie Elliott's smart mouth and her sass and unfettered attitude . She arrives in Colorado and meets koa
Only he's panty meltingly sexy and swoonworthy . Yanno those fanny flutters, clit chills, and quim quivers ? . Yup Koa has single handedly caused all of those
(Well you gotta share him Gracie, that's how we do things in America 😜🀣 )
They are forced to spend time in the cabin due to hilariously timed miscommunication and snowstorming. What follows is rib tickling Comedy Of Situations that is so wittingly penned by this super talented author , I'm a huge fan of! πŸ’–
Certain scenes will just stay with you. The Essex to American translation adds to the flavour and Gracie's mockery of certain American foods and words make you laugh !
Oh the title WILL make sense , if You ship hard
Read the book and Enjoy the fun ride. Clash of cultures and worlds is highly entertaining .

Lark shoots me a glare before asking, “What are you doing here?”

The venom in her voice is probably meant to scare me away but all I hear is come closer. I’m totally mesmerized.

“Hey, Sweetheart. I said you’d be seeing me soon. Figured I’d stop by and say hello in person.” I make sure to keep my tone calm but my skin inches with heat at the fire burning from her gaze.

“And I told you to leave me alone unless you’re ready to give me what I want.” She shifts her stare down to my groin while raising an expectant brow. “Is that what you’ve brought me?” She lifts her scorching eyes back to my face and seductively bites into her bottom lip.

Her sass is tantalizing but it’s the beauty underneath I’m truly after. “Sorry to disappoint you but that’s not why I’m here, Vix. I want to discuss some stuff, relating to us.”

“Vix? As in the vapor rub?”

An amused chuckle bounces up my throat. “Nah, short for Vixen.”

She seems to mull it over with a slight tilt of her head. “I suppose that's fitting, though you don’t need to be handing out nicknames. Tell me, what could we possibly have to talk about?”

“No idle chit-chat first? I’m hoping we can get to know each other. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since the other night and this sexy librarian look you’re rocking is hot as hell, but it’s more than that. Are you willing to hear me out? Maybe make an exception for me?”

A frustrated sigh answers my question. “I don’t have the patience for this, Rowen. I’m very busy here and you’re wasting my time.”

I lean against the door, trying to show I’m not ready to leave quite yet. “Answer me this. Where did you work when you were younger? Let’s say seven years ago?”

Lark glances away before shuffling some papers into piles. Her fidgeting makes me smile because now I’m certain she remembers just fine. A barely-there blush blooms on her cheeks while she continues avoiding my question. I wait her out and soon enough she graces me with a response.

“I don’t see how that’s any of your business.” Her deflection causes me to edge forward a bit, as though we need to be closer. She speaks to the depths of my soul, no matter if she gives me sass or softness.

“I’m trying here, Vix. Want to help me out? Did you work at Brack’s Box during the summer of 2010? Maybe a guy stopped in on a random July afternoon and stumbled over his words in your stunning presence. Do you remember that?”

Lark is still avoiding eye contact but I hear her whispered yes as if she shouted it across the room.
